General Summary of Duties: Responsible for assessing, evaluating, and treating athletes in addition to working with patients in the Wellness Program. The trainer works with medical personnel and athletic officials to assure comprehensive services. Required events are on nights and weekends.
Examples of Duties: (This list may not include all the duties assigned)
- Provides supervision and treatment of athletes and clinical patients to prevent injuries and/or initiate rehabilitation.
- Coordinates and promotes productive and collaborative relationships with physicians, professionals in the community, parents, and patients to assure comprehensive quality services.
- Completes required documentation promptly.
- Contributes to the effective organization of the department.
- Conforms to appropriate clinic and departmental policies.
- Maintains professional affiliations.
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher; National Athletic Trainers' Association Board eligible/certified.
Experience: Minimum two years clinical experience, preferably in medical practice. Computer experience required.
New graduates welcome however some experience preferred in the following areas: strength and conditioning, game coverage 2 years or more but not required. Desire to learn and provide top sport coverage serving Polk County area primarily Auburndale, Lakeland and Winter Haven.
